Top 5 Hack and Slash Apps on Android in Africa Q2 2023

The second quarter of 2023 saw significant activity in the hack and slash game category on the Android platform in Africa. Below, we highlight the performance trends of the top 5 applications, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Ninja Ryuko: Shadow Ninja Game by Monstermob USA experienced fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at $34 in the first week of May and dropping to $3 by the end of June. Weekly downloads showed a downward trend, starting at around 37.5K at the end of March and decreasing to approximately 18K by the last week of June. Similarly, weekly active users saw a decline from about 147K to 124K over the same period.

MARVEL Future Fight from Netmarble showed notable revenue spikes, with a peak of $2.1K in the first week of May. Downloads surged mid-quarter, reaching almost 38K in the week of June 19. Active users also increased significantly towards the end of the quarter, from around 110K at the end of March to approximately 150K by the end of June.

Fighting Tiger - Liberal by JiinFeng3D had steady weekly downloads, maintaining an average of around 5K to 7K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 20K and 26K.

Iron Blade: Medieval Legends by Gameloft SE saw minimal revenue, with occasional peaks of $26 and $11. Downloads decreased from about 5K at the beginning of the quarter to around 2K by the end. Active users showed a slight decline from approximately 17K to 12K over the same period.

Shadow Knight: Ninja Game RPG from Fansipan Limited had modest revenue, peaking at $43 in the last week of April. Downloads remained low but saw a slight increase towards the quarter's end, with a peak of around 3K in mid-June. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at about 3.5K and ending at around 3K.
